Five Day Tour of Yazd and Karakal Desert (Sadeh Festival)

Description

The City of Yazd is located in the middle of the Iranian plateau, southeast of Isfahan which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as the first and only Iranian city due to the unique historical and traditional architecture. It bears living testimony to the use of limited resources for survival in the desert. Water is supplied to the city through a qanat system developed to draw underground water. Because of generations of adaptations to its desert surroundings, Yazd has a unique Persian architecture and it is nicknamed the “City of Windcatchers”. It is also very well known for its Zoroastrian fire temple. The Karakal Desert in Yazd, famous for camel riding, off-road driving and motorcycling, is one of the largest deserts in Iran, attracting numerous travelers during autumn and winter.
